About Me...
Susan is a Registered Social Worker who lives and works in Prince Edward Island - one of her favourite places on earth!
She started her career in Ontario providing counselling, coaching, program coordination, public education, court support, case management and staff/volunteer training.
Susan worked for over 10 years in Supported Employment Services for persons with mental illnesses and disabilities in the Guelph area. She then moved to the Thousand Islands region and coordinated Supervised Access Services in the Kingston and Napanee area for the Ministry of the Attorney General. For 7 years, Susan was with the Canadian Mental Health Association Leeds Grenville providing Mental Health Court Diversion and Court Support Services for the United Counties, and managed a Transitional House for women coming out of long-term hospital care. She was a co-facilitator of the Suicide Bereavement Support Group through CMHA Leeds Grenville and a co-creator of an annual Suicide Bereavement Memorial Service and Candlelight Walk for all of Leeds and Grenville.
In 2012, Susan was co-founder of a mental health and wellness company, Power of 3, providing both customized and certified mental health and wellness workshops, and individual wellness services. Their work took them all over Ontario and Quebec.

In 2015, she founded her own counselling and wellness practice, which included a contract with Family Counselling Services of Leeds Grenville.

More recently in Prince Edward Island, Susan has provided Social Work services within Prince County for Health PEI.

Testimonials for Taking Back Control:
"This book (Taking Back Control) is a no nonsense, common sense good read for people who want to make a positive change in their lives. It is a good reference for families and people suffering from mental health or addictions who want some simple guidance about how to turn things around...beneficial to both the caregivers and the person looking to take back control. It's good for us all to look at both sides of the coin."
